Job Description

SUMMARY:

This position is a full time temporary position for one to two years.  You will be a carpenter mainly working on apartment remodels and large projects.  

OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties:

1)         Participate in all maintenance projects.

2)         Perform electrical repairs on items such as appliances, fixtures, switches, outlets, etc.  Install ceiling fans as well as indoor and outdoor light fixtures.

3)        Perform plumbing work such as clearing stoppages, replace/repair fittings, faucets, toilets.  Complete minor repiping including the soldering of copper pipes.

4)        Perform carpentry work, such as repairing/replacing doors, windows, closet by-fold or sliding doors and  building shelves.

5)        Repair concrete steps, stoops, patios, roofs, fencing, and signage when required.

6)         Paint and decorate apartments, hallways, etc., as directed by management.

7)       Be responsible for material control and efficient utilization of maintenance equipment.

8)      Abide by all rules and regulations of Employer.

9)    All other duties, not listed herein, as directed by the Resident Manager(s).   

10)      Must wear uniforms, if provided by Employer, during all work hours.

Job Requirements

Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance. (Possess the necessary skills to successfully troubleshoot and repair a variety of mechanical components.)

Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

High school or G.E.D. equivalent.  Strong carpenter and drywall skills a plus.

Good oral and written skills.

Good customer service skills.

Detail oriented.
